Lunch with young adult author, Jessica George

Mom and I had a wonderful lunch with my friend Jessica George, a talented young adult author of the wildly popular Dragon Slippers and Princess of the Midnight Ball. Princess of the Midnight Ball is the first in a series. Princess of Glass is the second book, and Jessica is now hard at work on the third. What most impresses me about Jessica is her ability to weave such rich detail into a fantasy. From the first page, I was hooked!

A lively redhead, Jessica’s quick wit and keen sense of humor made for a memorable lunch as we chatted for several hours about the inner workings of the publishing world and how blessed we are to be doing what we love most in the world— and that is to write! I can’t wait to read Jessica’s third book. It allows me to step out of my adult world and remember what it was like to see the world through the eyes of the young girl I once was—a young girl that still believed in magic, dragons, princesses, and the never failing competence of that dashing knight in shining armor.
